Part P certification refers to compliance with Part P of the Building Regulations in England and Wales. This regulation aims to ensure that electrical work in dwellings (houses, flats, etc.) meets certain safety standards. It states that certain types of electrical work must be notified to the local building control authority or carried out by a registered electrician who is Part P certified. The certification provides assurance that the electrician has the necessary competence to perform electrical work safely in domestic settings. The NICEIC registration allows me to self notify any work to building control when I'm required to do so.
