Here are some approximate costs for EV charger installations in the UK:

  1. Standard Home Charger (7 kW): For a basic home charger installation, which typically has a power capacity of 7 kW, the fully installed cost of this type of charger starts from £1000. This cost estimate includes the charger unit, electrical work and materials for a location of up to 10 metres from the distribution location and labor costs.
  2. Three Phase Charger (22 kW): If you opt for a higher-powered home charger with a power capacity of 22 kW, the installation cost is likely to be higher but you can expect much faster charge times. Most houses do not have the supply capabilities to be able to install this type of charger at this moment in time however it may be possible to have your electrical supply upgraded by the distribution network to enable this install (at an added cost). You can expect to pay upwards of £1500 for the installation, including the charger unit, electrical work, and labor costs.
  3. It's essential to ensure that the electrician you hire is registered with a competent person scheme, such as NICEIC, as this ensures the work will comply with the relevant safety standards and regulations, we are registered under the NICEIC and can sign off all domestic electrical work.

It's important to note that these cost estimates are rough guidelines, and actual prices can vary depending on specific circumstances.

There may be grants available to certain customers, this will all be discussed prior to the install.
